The Plan

DSC_0037e

The general plan is for me to reduce my debt and put aside enough money  to support myself for about a year.  I’m going to accomplish this by paying down my bills and taking overtime at work. Well, I took a buyout package at work.  For now I’m going to live off the money they gave me and work on promoting my pictures and getting sales and ad revenue form this page.  If in a few months, sales and ad revenue don’t start paying the bills, I’ll go back to work and use the remaining severance to pay off my bills., reducing my cost of living :)

I’m testing my skills at Stock photography to see if I can create another source of income, in addition to my photos on SmugMug and Imagekind.  I’m also, going to explore getting my pictures to be displayed (for sale) where I can.  This may involve making sample post cards and calendars and some kind of sacrifice to the retail gods.  Finally, I’m browsing at Grants to see if there is anything that I can apply for to help offset the costs of my living expenses and the costs for an RV and the equipment needed for traveling across the county taking pictures, blogging and promoting what I’ve found.

There is a lot to see across the country and even in our own backyards. With the way the economy and gas prices are, it’s really hard to go on a trip to an amusement park, big city or resort for a vacation. Something about sitting in front of the TV for a week doesn’t really recharge or relax you as much as getting away from the house.  My goal is to visit as many attractions, well and little known, as possible.  Through the Blog, photographs and video I’ll share my experiences in hopes to motivate others to get out and explore what they have locally, and when the economy gets moving again,  across the US.

Thanks for reading this long and lofty explanation :)   If you can please click on an ad or two, browse my pictures and buy a print, framed or unframed, or donate.  100 percent of the proceeds will go to fund my trip!
